“Time is money.” –Benjamin Franklin

“No! Time is POWER!” –Janice Rostron

Are you constantly overcommitting, perplexed by piles of papers, and irritated by emails? Is your to-do list endless, overwhelming, and never getting done? Does time seem to get away from you every … single … day?

Time is your most powerful asset, but it is a finite resource. Janice Rostron created Time Is Power to help you take back the power you have over your time so you can spend it on what matters most. She combats the idea that productivity is about getting as much done as possible in the shortest amount of time. Instead, she defines productivity as getting the right things done, at the right time, with the right amount of energy.

Time Is Power is designed to make obligation and information overload more manageable. It is a step-by-step journey to a more productive life by showing you how to prioritize what’s important, simplify your systems, and delegate what you can.

For the past decade, Janice has helped her clients live less cluttered, more productive lives. She is a lifelong learner and has earned certificates in Chronic Disorganization, Workplace Productivity, and Team Productivity. Embracing her Master of Education (MEd) and years of teaching experience, she incorporates education into every aspect of her work as a professional organizer and productivity consultant.

You can’t do it all, but you can accomplish a lot when you focus on what matters most.

Each chapter is full of real advice that I could take away and each chapter ends with exercises to put the new knowledge into practice. • Good tool

Starting this I realized I was already doing the first part of keeping everything on a digital calendar and it really has helped keep that part of things organized. The rest will take some work and time but having it all written out in steps makes it easier to get through and more likely to get done once it's started.

  • Being organized is a powerful time saver.

This book written by a Professional Organizer, by the name Janice Rostron. She gives great tools and techniques to simplify your daily tasks/worklife and accomplish important things that you need to get done without burning yourself out and feeling like you haven't achieved nothing. She suggest tools to use to organize important documents, bills, appts, children activities etc, and the best way to do them. From using different types of folders, bins, to digital calendars on your phone or writing on specific calendars to benefit you more if you are more of a paper/pen person compared to a digital savvy person who uses specific apps to help get the job done. Either way she gives you great techniques for decreasing junk mail from your emails, to creating a password manager for things that you need to protect online, backing up documents and storing them in safe places to avoid not having them if something goes wrong when you can't access them on the application you have them saved on. How to become better prepared with from little to huge office space and how to organize these things to work smarter and not harder. I appreciate anyone who can suggest and simplify the important things in a persons life that could be very beneficial and overall helpful. Great book to have handy.

I found myself reflecting on my own habits, and I think the ideas are valuable both personally and professionally.

  • Time is Power

These kind of books are not my go to but but if you are looking for a quick read with lots of tips on taking back your time & using it in the best way possible this was a short, easy read.

    -Kayla White

  • Highly recommend

It’s so interesting how we can understand in theory how to do things, but then you read it all written out and think, “Oh yeah, that does make sense. Maybe I should do that.”

That’s this book. It organises everything we should do, neatly and tidily, and then encourages the reader to do it. I highly recommend.

  • A practical reset for an overloaded schedule

This book felt useful because it does not treat productivity as cramming more into an already crowded day. The ideas of Boulders, Barriers, and Building Blocks gave me a simple way to sort what actually matters from what only feels urgent. I also appreciated the practical systems for papers, email, and digital files because those small messes quietly steal a lot of time. It reads like advice from someone who has organized real lives, not just a perfect desk for a photo.

  • Right things at the right time….

This is a book to help you organize your life by using time. Realizing how much time is wasted in the lives of individuals this book helps you prioritize what you should be concentrating on. It gets down to the nitty gritty and even gets into how to make files for your entire life and what files are important. Time is also described as something that one should not race to get as much done as possible but what is right to do in that amount of time a very interesting concept. If you find yourself running out of time and your life is a little disorganized pick up a copy this book has many great ideas.
